Why this site exists
We started building it after checking what currently ranks for "Colorado Springs zip codes," a search around 20,000 people a month make. The top result placed the Broadmoor in 80902, Peterson Space Force Base in 80938, and Banning Lewis Ranch in 80924. None of those are correct.
That turned out to be a pattern rather than an exception. The most commonly repeated claims about this city include a 300-days-of-sunshine figure that isn't true, a Space Command job-loss number off by a factor of seventeen, and school district assignments that would send a family's children to a different high school than they expected.
So everything here carries its source and its date. Where we can't verify something, we say so rather than filling the gap. The zip code table flags two figures we don't fully trust, and the school district reference we are preparing sets aside five claims that failed a two-source check.
